OUR COAST IS NOT FOR SALE!! California knows the OUR COAST IS NOT FOR SALE!!

California knows the cost of offshore drilling firsthand - the 1969 Santa Barbara spill, the 2015 Refugio spill, thousands of marine animals killed, beaches closed for months. And the federal government is pushing to expand drilling off our coast again.

AB 1448 fights back. It blocks idle offshore platforms from quietly restarting, stops existing infrastructure from being used for new federal leases, and forces regulators to weigh spill history and safety before approving any changes.

AB 1448 is now in the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee — this is the moment for it to hear from us.

📞 CALL NOW: (916) 651-4116

Say: “I’m calling to urge the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee to pass AB 1448 and protect California’s coast from new offshore drilling.”

60 seconds. Every call is logged and counted.

@ Tag someone who loves our coastline as much as you do.

“California just committed to getting the freshest “California just committed to getting the freshest local food to school children thereby impacting their health but also supporting local farmers. The Governor just signed on to permanent funding for the California Farm to School Program. And this includes early childhood education about food and agriculture. This is a huge signal that California cares about what our children eat.” - Barbara Sattler, RN, DrPH, FAAN

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Office of Farm to Fork funded the Farm to School Incubator Grant program supporting sustainable, local food procurement, minimally processed school meals programs, and hands-on education for students from early childhood education through 12th grade. With ongoing funding secured in Governor Newsom’s 2026-27 state budget, in partnership with the Legislature, this program will continue to improve children’s health while strengthening local food systems and creating new opportunities for small and mid-sized farmers.

📣 WHAT’S REALLY IN YOUR BABY’S DIAPER? Diapers to 📣 WHAT’S REALLY IN YOUR BABY’S DIAPER?

Diapers touch a baby’s skin nearly every minute of the day for years - and right now, manufacturers don’t have to tell parents what’s actually in them.

AB 1901 would change that. It requires diaper makers to fully disclose every intentionally added ingredient - including its chemical ID and purpose - right on the package and online.

Parents deserve to know. AB 1901 already passed the Assembly 68–1, and it’s now in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

📞 CALL NOW: (916) 651-4113

Say: “I’m calling to urge the Senate Judiciary Committee to pass AB 1901 and require diaper ingredient transparency.”

Takes 60 seconds. Committees log every call.

@ Share this with a parent, caregiver, or nurse in your life.

3 new “forever chemical” pesticides just got EPA a 3 new “forever chemical” pesticides just got EPA approval — here’s what nurses need to know.

On July 1, 2026, the EPA approved epyrifenacil, diflufenican, and trifludimoxazin for use on corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, apples, almonds, and more.

All three are PFAS — “forever chemicals” that don’t break down in the environment.

What the science shows:
Epyrifenacil caused liver tumors in animal studies
Trifludimoxazin showed “suggestive evidence” of cancer risk, plus thyroid and liver effects
Both build up in soil, water, and in our bodies

Why this matters:
Farmworker and rural patients face direct occupational exposure. Early awareness, patient education, and documentation matter more than ever.

What you can do:
Ask about occupational exposure history. Share reporting resources with patients. Support farmworker health policy advocacy in your community.
