Second Webinar in a Three-Part Webinar Series

1 Free Nursing CE!

This one-hour webinar, the second in a three-part series, will help nurses and health care professionals understand common drinking water contaminants in the San Joaquin Valley, how community members may be exposed, and potential short- and long-term health effects. Participants will learn how water quality concerns can affect patients and communities, recognize relevant risk factors, and apply practical strategies for patient assessment and education.

Speaker

Sarah Brown Blake

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify common and emerging drinking-water contaminants of concern in California’s San Joaquin Valley and describe their primary sources, exposure pathways, and potential health effects.
  2. Recognize populations at increased risk from drinking-water exposures and explain how environmental, socioeconomic, and structural factors contribute to unequal exposure and the ability to reduce risk.
  3. Apply evidence-based strategies to assess drinking-water exposures, communicate risk, and provide patients and communities with appropriate guidance.
