January 8 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
While we would like to think that hospitals are safe places to work, the truth is that there are chemical, biological and radiological exposures of concern, as well as an array of physical safety issues (sharps, ergonomic issues, and threats of violence). Additionally, hospitals are huge consumers of energy and a wide range of products, including food products, and produce an enormous amount of waste. This committee is working on several occupational health risks to nurses, including contaminants found in N95 and KN95 masks and exposures associated with splitting and crushing medications. Committee members are also working on a range of hospital sustainability efforts regarding purchasing and waste. Members of the Committee work with Health Care Without Harm.
Team meetings are ongoing and meets every Second Monday of Every Month @ 4:00 pm PST.
